Then Maggie meets her new teacher, and she is appalled. She knows her teacher must be a vampire, but no one else agrees with her.

First Impression

Since I had already read Maggie Sparks and the Truth Dragon, simply seeing the name and the author made this book a must-read. I expected a fun book with my favorite little witch, and Steve Smallman did not disappoint.

What I Love About Maggie Sparks and the School of Slime

I love the strength of our young heroine, Maggie. Her indomitable spirit and imagination stand out to me. She doesn’t back down from a fight and is loyal to her friend Arthur.

She is the type of student that keeps teachers on their toes.

I also like that while this is part of the Maggie Sparks series, it can be read as a stand-alone book.

What Could Have Been Better?

Nothing! It was perfect. As a parent and teacher, I completely approve of this book. I enjoyed it and recommend it to parents as a great book to read at bedtime.

Favorite Character

Maggie! Maggie’s imagination, loyalty to her best friend, and refusal to submit to bullies make her my favorite character.

Her comebacks are to die for.
