First Impressions
Honestly, I’m not the biggest fan of short stories they always leave me wanting more. But this one? It totally caught me off guard. I wouldn’t say it grabbed me and wouldn’t let go; it was more like a gentle nudge, making me curious enough to turn the first page.
From the first chapter, Cody’s personality practically leaped off the page, which hooked me. It’s rare to see a character so vividly defined right away, and it made the story feel alive.

What I Loved
Hands down, the dynamic between Cody and Ginny. They’re total opposites—he’s all doom and gloom, while she’s basically rainbows and sunshine wrapped in human form. The difference is so big it’s almost laughable, but it works. Their interactions were always something forward to.
What Could Have Been Better
As much as I enjoyed the book, the pacing could’ve used some work. Like most short stories, some parts dragged a bit too much, while others felt rushed, making it a little tricky to keep up at times. A more balanced flow would’ve made the story easier to follow, but other than that, it was great.
Who Should Read This
If you’re into stories with a mix of paranormal vibes, a touch of humor, and unforgettable characters, this one’s for you. Fans of small-town mysteries will absolutely love this. Whether you’re a die-hard ghost story enthusiast or just someone looking for a quick, captivating read, this book won’t disappoint.
Final Thoughts
Like I said, I’m not usually a big fan of short stories, but despite the pacing, I really did enjoy this one. It caught me off guard in the best way, and I found myself invested in the characters and their story.
Before You Go
Oh, I know we’re not about to have this discussion again. Really? Really? Worry about your TBR later. Trust me, those books aren’t going anywhere. But these? These are the ones you need to read now. Like, drop everything and dive in.
Seriously, if you don’t, I might just have to start questioning your life choices. I’m leaving three recs: Never Date Your Brother’s Best Friend, Now and Forever, and Absent Feelings. What more do you want? Now go on. Thank me later.
