Quick Summary

The Energy Wars features thirteen year old Myles, who suddenly finds out that he has super powers. He is able to see other people energies and how like missiles thrown the affects others.

When Sally Munson showed up at school in purple, balloon pants, kids began to make fun of her. Surprisingly Myles saw the children’s words like energy missiles being tossed at Sally.

He is mistified as he finds that his world has become a warzone that he needs to understand or he would be dodging fireballs for the rest of his life.

As Myles and his friends work to understand the secrets of his discoveries they also find out that the new ZS phone is stealing everyone’s energy.

Full Disclosure

I started reading this book with my 11-year-old son. He did not like it. However, I still believe it is a great read, and he did not give it a real chance. In spite of his opinion I have to follow my heart and give this five stars.

First Impression

From the first chapter I loved Energy Wars that is inspite of the fact that it has been written for teenagers. The book gives a unique perspective of things that happen in everyday life.

There is a lesson in there that none of us can afford to miss, but it has been written in an entertaining way. From the very first chapter I could not put it down.

The message is clear. You need to get the book to learn more.

What I Loved

I love the fact that this book is clean. It is written for children and not only does it have a positive and inspiring message, Jodi Dee managed to write a story that I believe all parents will approve of.

Favourite Quote

“Problems are less big when you have someone to talk with about them.”

Isn’t that the truth? This sentence resonated with me because I believe we can all relate to it.

Final Thought

This book takes you on a journey of self discovery and makes you question everything you know of the world. While it is listed as a kids book I say this is one for all ages.

In a day when new children books seem to lack a unique story or are filled with things that I’d rather not open my child to, Energy Wars is refreshingly different.

It has a fresh perspective about the things we do in the world and the way we affect others.

I will definitely buy this.

This book has a cliff hanger ending that sets the tone for book two which I cannot wait to read.
