Quick Summary

The Last Chance Road Trip by Sara Jane Woodley is a Romance novel about Val, a young woman who never quite moved on from her first love, her childhood friend and former boyfriend. Years ago, they drifted apart and broke up, and she hadn’t seen him since. But suddenly, he’s back in Mirror Valley because of his grandfather’s death. When Val learns that the old man’s last wish was for the two of them to go on a weekend-long treasure hunt to revisit their childhood, she’s caught off guard. Will this journey give them a second chance, or are some memories better left in the past?

First Impressions

The book grabbed my attention right from the start. It was like a baby’s first taste of actual food, realizing there is something much more delectable than milk.

What I Loved

I loved how Val tried to hide her lingering feelings for Ethan, pretending his presence wasn’t affecting her. It was adorable.

What Could Have Been Better

I wouldn’t change anything about this book. I loved everything.

Favorite Character

I didn’t have any standout favorites per se, but if I had to pick, it would have to be Pops. Even with his unfortunate end, he brought warmth to the story, especially with his not-so-subtle attempts at playing cupid for the main characters.

Memorable Quote

“I grimaced at the small, dark hole in the corner wall, which looked like the perfect hiding spot for all kinds of critters and bugs.” There’s just something about insects. I don’t like them.

Final Thoughts

I recommend this book to all hopeless romantics who believe second chances exist.
