Bound to Submit

By Laura Kaye

Romance | BDSM

Rating: It is a solid ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

Quick Summary

In Bound to Submit, Kenna, the main character, returns from Afghanistan changed. She is in pain, and in an effort to cope, she decides to try out the BDSM lifestyle she used to love. However, only one man will do. So, she decides to renew her membership of Blasphemy, a sex club.

The one she has chosen to explore this lifestyle with is the man who had once rejected her. Little does she know he has since tried to rectify this error and has been longing for her ever since.

First Impressions

Pain! Distress was not what I expected when I turned the first page, and Kenna’s pain was what this book opened with. However, Kenna’s is the back story, and it gives her character more depth.

What I loved

I loved the way these characters are portrayed as strong yet vulnerable in parts. Her greatest moment of weakness is in her self-doubt. Enters Griffin, her Dom, who can read her like books and knows just how to support her, when to push, and has great restraint.

However, Griffin is not infallible. He is tormented by any part he may have played in hurting Kenna.

While I do not usually read BDSM, the writing is phenomenal, and the detail of the scenes draws you in. It was steamy.

Readers will fall in love with Griffin and Kenna.

What could have been better

There were a few grammatical errors, but not many. Certainly not nearly enough to prevent me from giving this five stars.

Favorite character

I loved all of these characters, but if I had to pick one, it must be Griffin. I loved the way he treated Kenna.

Favorite quote

“Half the time, there are penises just flapping in the wind around here.” –

This is far from a romantic comedy, but that had me in stitches.

Who should read this

If you love romance, especially BDSM romance, Bound to Submit is a great choice for a rainy night in front of the fireplace. If BDSM is not your typical choice, but you love romance novels, you might want to make this one of those exceptions.

Final thoughts

This book captured my attention and held me enthralled to the last chapter. I loved the characters; the scenes were great, and so was the storyline. I highly recommend it.
