I was hooked from the very first chapter. The emotions were so real I was drawn in. The characters are relatable and funny, and the storyline had me laughing and enthralled. I couldn’t put it down.

What I Loved

These characters are not normal boys who meet girls. They are childhood enemies who have not forgotten the hurts and have no intention of falling in love with each other. However, in spite of this background, the attraction is strong, the alliances are strong, and the romance is steamy. I was emotionally invested throughout.

The story is set in a small town with the usual gossipmongers and the inability to keep secrets. However, the ties and loyalties of family and friends are strong and written in such a manner that there is obviously love and true community spirit. I was unable to resent them even when they stuck their noses in.

What Could Have Been Better

Nothing 😁! It was perfect.

Favorite Character

Violet and Eli—I loved them. They stayed true to character throughout, and while they enjoyed butting with each other, their fighting spirit was at its strongest when they were fighting for each other.

Honorable mention must go to Eli’s brothers, whose bond is strong but in true brotherly fashion do not hesitate to get him riled up. I must take a moment to mention how much I enjoyed the role Silas played. While his role was small he made up for it with his enthusiasm and obvious love for adventure. I look forward to reading his story one day.

Additionally, I loved Adeline, Violet’s best friend. She embodies the loyalty and steadfastness we would all wish for in a friend.

Memorable Quote

“Do you want me to help you hide the body?” – Adeline. This was uttered in the perfect best-friend moment where Adelaid is ready to stick up for Violet when she is at her lowest.
