Synopsis
Olive is a College graduate buried under a whole slew of debts that will take her years to pay off. She has a job and a nice place to live which she shares with her best friend.
So what if she can’t afford to treat herself to a vacation or anything else? She is independent and straight.
Then a check arrived in the mail for just the amount she owes but she doesn’t know who it is from. She has no one that is likely to give her that kind of money either.
It must be a joke, or is it a trap? Is the police going to arrest her if she cashes the cheque?
The Characters
Olive is a battle-scarred young lady who has worked hard with little support to get to where she is.
Sydney is Olive’s very supportive best friend. She’ll push her when she needs it and she is her rock in the tough times.
Olive’s mother, a bitter twisted old lady who manipulates her children for her own selfish gain.
Nick Crawford is a man shrouded in mystery.
The characters are relatable. We cheer for them because we are able to see life through their eyes.
What I Liked
Olive displays a lack of streetsmart from time to time but when it comes down to it she is prepared to make the tough choices.
I liked the bond between Sydney and Olive. They display that true ride or die connection.
I love the mystery that surrounds Olive’s benefactor. Their obvious chemistry leaves something to look forward to as well.
What I Disliked
I was a little disappointed. I am no expert but as a reader, I believe that even when a book is a sequel there should be a satisfactory ending with a promise of something more to come on which the sequel is based.
Stamp Of Approval
I found this to be an engaging read.

Candy:
This was a delightful story and you did a great job describing it. It was wonderful for Olive to get that amount of money – we never did find out who it was from. But it was just the right amount that she needed.
Makes me want to get and read that book!

I really enjoyed your book review. The topic of the book seems to tackle that morale dilemma of what would you do type thing. Very cool concept. Who doesn’t love a book.
Your review is honest and already has me asking, what would I do. Do you have any idea in that situation as to what you would do?
Thanks for the review, I may have to check out the book.
Hi Coralie,
The unfortunate thing is that I have a tendency to bend over backward to do what is right so things don’t always go in my favor. It’s nice to fantasize about having that windfall of cash though.
It’s an interesting story line.
Cheers,
