Author: T. Albert

Genre: Children’s Book

Synopsis:

This story is about mixed messages and is written from a child’s point of view.  Why can’t adults just say no? It shows how being unclear with your words can send the wrong message.

The clear message is that no is not a bad word. Instead of shying away from it, we should embrace its use because that simple word sends a clear message to children.

What I like:

I liked that the story is a children based story I’m sure that many children will want to read it.

What I don’t like:

I didn’t like the way the story ended. It could use some more development. I give it three stars.

Stamp of approval:

I’d say that this story deserves to be in stores making profits.

Hello there! Thank you for writing this article on the book learning about no. I’ve gone through your review and I completely agree with your stance. This children book should also be given to some adults to read because I’m very sure most people think saying no is a bad thing and others can’t accept no. I’ll get this book and read so I’ll understand better what you mean by saying you didn’t like how it ended, Thank you.

      Hi Sophie,

Thank you for dropping by and for reading my review.

Indeed saying no is a very important lesson for adults to learn and this is clearly outlined in the book.

Hello there, thanks a lot for sharing this wonderful content here with us. I have gone through the book and i think my kids here would find it really interesting although i think the way it ended needs to be worked on. It is good to let these children know when and how to say no to some certain things

    Hello Candy,

This is clearly a well thought out book before putting own to paper and I like the point of view which the story have been told which is that of a child and gives the reader the idea of mistakes to be made knowing how a child can make mistakes. The central message is very vital and the whole style gives you a better understanding of the book.

      Hello,

Having a children’s book written from their perspective always makes a more appealing book for them I believe, however in this instance this story can very well send a strong message to us adults as well.

Saying NO with courage and boldness requires a little bit of practice. Let’s just say someone is asking to lend your bike. Do a speedy thinking. Do you really feel to give it out? If not gather your courage and say NO. Kind of Difficult? Maybe for the first time. Saying no for this first time is very crucial. Take a risk and say it out loud. NO.

You are correct and I felt the same way but in this case here is a child that wishes adults would just say no instead of sending mixed messages.

I agree with her. We teach them to say no by saying no ourselves.

      Regards,
